Sun Dried Tomatoes are delicious and healthy products produced by drying tomatoes grown in the fertile Aegean soil under the summer sun. Tomatoes are picked at the peak of ripeness, dried slowly in the warm sun for seven and cooled by evening breezes. Partial re-hydration occurs by this slow sun-drying process, producing sweet full-bodied dried red tomatoes. As the moisture evaporates, the flavor intensifies.

Usage Tips

 

The flavor of sun-dried tomatoes is quite intense, concentrated, so a little goes a long way. 
Mix with mayo or ketchup; use as a dip for french fries.
Combine with softened butter and refrigerate for a tomato compound butter; add thin slices to a grilled steak.
Stir into scrambled eggs or add to omelettes.
Add to burger meat mixtures or slather on top of burgers (or both!).
Replace spread for a chunky homemade pizza.
Make a béchamel sauce, add salsa and toss with pasta.
Layer onto a grilled cheese sandwich.
Add salsa as your secret ingredient to soups, stews or chilis.
Use in place of cocktail sauce for shrimp.
